Inland Waders
I hope to add more to this page in the future. For now, here is one of the most common inland wader type birds, the Coot.
EURASIAN COOT
These birds, unlike the american species, have no red spot or lump on their forehead but simply a very white beak. They frequent large ponds, and other bodies of water. These birds are known for having an exceptionally brutal procedure of raising young - only a few chicks hatch, then the parents test each chicks resilience and hardiness by favouring particular birds. The parents therefore kill chicks that they dislike, be it through force or lack of simple care and will do so if they deem it necessary until they are left with the strongest bird. They therefore only raise one bird per year.
